Pensions and 29 November: what PSOE, PP and Vox say and what remains unproven
CAMPAIGN · PENSIONS · Latest document or statement: 17/10/2026 · Reviewed: 19/10/2026
Sánchez alleges that PP and Vox want to privatise pensions. Feijóo says he will retain the public system and adjust payments with inflation. Here is what can be checked today.

At a rally in Fuenlabrada on 17 October, Pedro Sánchez attributed an intention to privatise pensions to PP and Vox. The source is the PSOE’s own account of the rally. This is a campaign allegation, not a measure in a verified 2026 manifesto.
Four days earlier, on 13 October, PP published a statement saying Alberto Núñez Feijóo guaranteed the public pension system and CPI-linked increases. That is a pledge attributed to the candidate in a party communication. It does not establish what law he would pass or how he would fund pensions.
On 11 October, Vox published a speech by Santiago Abascal saying pensions would be paid whatever the cost. That statement does not explain funding or a proposed inflation-adjustment formula.
There are conflicting political claims about PP’s intentions. Those statements alone do not establish a privatisation plan or fulfilment of the inflation pledge.
What remains to assess
The 29 November manifesto, a concrete legislative proposal, the positions on revenue and spending, and any later parliamentary process. We will apply the same test to PSOE, Vox and other candidacies. A 2023 manifesto is historical evidence, not a new commitment.
