What happened

On 7 October, the committee formed by CESM and the Andalusian and Basque medical unions postponed the indefinite national strike due from the 28th. It said the election call had changed negotiations over the medical employment framework. A postponement is not a settlement.

What it means and what we do not know

On 13 October, CESM said it would seek meetings with parties about bargaining, working hours, on-call duties and retirement. It also announced a Madrid march for 21 November. That is a future event, not one that has already taken place.

What we will track

For patients and professionals, the question is what each party proposes and how it would be implemented without worsening access to care. We will track the schedule, documents and official responses.
